Very nice little hidden gem in the LA RV wasteland. I can echo the sentiments of other reviews. Nicely laid out, although bigger rigs need to take your time as some of the loops are a bit twisty. You can seemingly forget that you're still in LA at times. Saw some coyotes while we were here and heard their serenade around midnight which was cool. We were in the D-loop which was down by the lake and it had some pluses and minuses. On the plus side, we were right down on the lake which was very pretty. Sites were plenty large and all the utilities worked very well. On the minus side is the fact that we were right at the end of the Pomona Airport runway and at 7am it sounded like the D-Day invasion had started. The other negative being down by the lake is that the office/store/pool are all up at the top of a rather steep hill. That being said, it's a very nice place overall. It also is nice if you live in the LA area that you can be here in under an hour. Fire rings are not at every site so you need to request one if you want it. We'll definitely come back.

I really wanted to give this place a higher mark but I just couldn't. It could easily be a 9+. It is a little bit of an older park and the sites that I saw were definitely set up for Travel Trailers and not motor homes. The utilities (especially sewer) were at the very end of the sites, meaning there is no way to keep a toad hooked up while parked. The pool and other common areas were very nicely maintained but did show a little sign of age. We arrived on Labor Day weekend in the middle of the day and no one was around. The office was closed and the poor guy who was supposed to be the security guard was off buying parts to fix a plumbing leak. (If you read some of the other reviews this seems to be a common theme.) Also, this is the 21st century. No cable? It's not like this is a campground in the middle of the forest. A place that bills itself as a "resort" needs to have these types of things. I don't want to give the wrong impression though. We did like this place and since it's on the west side of Phoenix it makes it pretty convenient on trips to or from Los Angeles. With just a few tweaks this could be a very, very nice place.

This park is fine. Nothing spectacular, but certainly nothing wrong with it either. Convenient to the freeway. Pool area was a little dingy but it was OK. Train noise was not bothersome and you're not going to find anywhere in Benson where you won't hear the train. Pull throughs were plenty long and the utilities were all in working order. Don't know if it's worth an extended stay but a few days are fine and if you're just cruising I-10 and need an overnight you can't go wrong here. We'd stay again.

The park is located right on the Colorado River on the California side. It's about a 3.5-4.5 hour ride from LA depending on the traffic. It's clean and fairly well maintained. We came in rather late and usually KOA posts your site with instructions near the office. This was not the case here. We basically wandered the park until we found a spot. The only space available were in a flat grassy area. It was a full hook-up site and everything worked properly. We were only there overnight so it was fine. A security guard came by as I was setting up and we worked out all of the niceties. One thing to note. Remember I said a "grassy area" near "the river". Well, my ankles beared the marks of several mosquito bites in the short time I was outside hooking things up. If we had been there for several nights I'm not sure that hanging out outside would have been terribly fun. Still, it's right off of the 10 Fwy and it's easy on/off. There's a little noise from the freeway but nothing to be concerned about. This is Blythe after all and your A/C should hum loud enough to drown out any noise.

Great, great great! If you're coming to Carlsbad, this is the place. The staff here is first rate. Very helpful. Escort to site. Terrific BBQ delivered to your site. Nice pool area. Quiet nights. The only down-side is its proximity to Carlsbad Caverns. It is located about 1 hour north of the caverns but not much else in the area.

This park is very freeway friendly. Noise is there but isn't a problem. Entire park is gravel which means it isn't necessarily pretty but it's probably easier to maintain. Spaces are generous and utilities were all in working order. Makes for a fine overnight stop. Nice, clean pool area and small playground. Surrounding area is a little run-down, but there's not that much else out here.

If I were to rate this park strictly by other options in the area it might get a "9". There aren't too many places to choose from and, from what I saw, they didn't look too great. This was a nice spot for a few days. Lack of a pool or other type of distractions knocks it down a few pegs. Overall cleanliness was very good. Sites were clean and well maintained. Good selection of cable channels. Utilities were all in working order albeit for a leaky water hookup. Office staff was very friendly. I've read a few other posts saying that the sites were level and generally they were in good order. The sites were paved but I found them to have a slight crown to them. I also wasn't the only one using the majority of my leveling blocks. But again, it wasn't anything worth complaining about. This is a great park for exploring the local area. We'll be back.

I'm having a really tough time reviewing this one. On the one hand, I have really good feelings about the staff and the experience we had. But on the other is just the location and the accessability to and from the park are just poor. If you have anything more than a 35'er, don't bother. You're just not getting it around the local streets or getting it into one of the park's sites. There's also no real good place to hook/unhook a toad other than the town streets which, fortunately aren't very busy. That being said, it's a gorgeous area. We had fun walking into town for dinner. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Utilities all worked well but as others have noted, bring extensions for water, electrical & cable as you may be located far from these outlets. While everyone in the park was well behaved, keep in mind that the majority of the structures in the area are rental units as well. Someone had their music on fairly loud, but fortunately not very late. The other thing to remember is there isn't a lot to choose from in the area. There are two other RV parks that I saw on the "June Lake Loop" which didn't look any different. There is also Oh Ridge which is in a beautiful setting but has no hookups. So, decide what's important to you before you go.

Very nice park. It's exactly what we look for when camping. Something that has the look and feel of "camping" with all of the conveniences of full hookups. Staff was very helpful. I saw the maintenance people going over each site as soon as the previous campers had vacated. All of the utilities were in good working order. Cable channels wee a bit limited, but that's ok. WiFi worked very well. The only reason I dinged them a point was for the fact that there's not really a good placed to hook up a toad for a motorhome. If you don't have one of their limited number of pullthru sites, it's nearly impossible without blocking everybody coming in or out. The good news is that there's a rest area about a mile west down CA44 from the park that has plenty of room. Very quiet park.

If only. I've said this to my wife on several occasions. If you could pick this park up and move it someplace else. If only this park were in a different location. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy. But as far the park goes, the spaces are very spacious and are nicely shaded with very mature oak trees. The staff was very friendly. The WiFi was probably the strongest/fastest connection we've ever encountered in a campground. The cable selection left a lot to be desired. This is in a convenient spot for traveling up/down CA99 or to visit nearby Sequoia. This is just the kind of park that you feel bad giving a lower rating.

First time camping here in our 35' Class A. If you have anything larger, forget it. We made it ok, but all of the trees along the access roads bear the battle scars of those less fortunate. Make sure that you read the site descriptions carefully. Camping in the shadow of Glacier Point and North Dome it doesn't get any better. The only reason for the point deduction is because of the bathrooms. They were convienient to use (to keep from filling our holding tanks) but if you've ever smelled a NPS restroom, you know why I deducted a point. This campground is convenient to Vernal Falls trails. The bus line makes 2 stops around this CG. Didn't bring our car this trip and didn't miss a thing. Bus line is very good. This has to be on the Top 10 list of camping experiences in America.

Very nice park. Not what you would call a destination resort, but a very nice, reasonably priced place to stay and explore the area. All of the utilities worked well. The cable TV choices were a bit limited. Got a WiFi signal, but I had a connectivity issue (my fault, I believe, not theirs). Spaces were very well maintained with nicely manicured, mature landscaping. Office and park staff couldn't have been nicer. Someone escorted us to our site, even though we arrived after office hours. Pretty scenery surrounding the park. Conveniently located off of US101. Freeway noise was audible but not disruptive. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the railroad tracks. Towards the back of the park is a railroad line. Fortunately, I don't think that it's a main line. We didn't hang out in the park all day, but we noticed one train a night come by. No horns blowing or anything and it wasn't particularly late. It was kinda' like the freeway noise. It's audible, but not disruptive. If you have time, check out the little town of San Juan Bautista. Most buildings are kept to look like they did in the 1800's and the centerpiece is the Mission and State Historic park. Great food at the Mariposa Restaurant and Tea Room.

Many parks call themselves an "RV Resort" and fall short in one or more areas. This one truly is an RV Resort. Ample paved sites. Access roads well maintained with plenty of room to maneuver. Utilities all in working order. Beautiful golf and tennis facilities. Golf is a par-3, but what do you want, PGA West? All facilities neat and clean. Enjoyed their little lunch place by the pool. One of the few places in the area that isn't strictly a 55 and older spot. Our kids enjoyed riding bikes. Some people might be put off by the list of Rules and Regs. But I'm sure that if they didn't keep to their standards it would be as nice as it is. Saw Security patrolling 24-7. Only reason I didn't give it a 10 was I couldn't get the WiFi to work (signal seemed to be there but couldn't connect), and at times our site had a bit of sewage odor. But given the overall state of the park, I'm sure that was the exception rather than the rule. We generally prefer "camping" spots rather than "RV Parks", but I must say this park is a gem.

This is now a KOA park. The park is nice, clean, well maintained, but very basic. The sites are gravel. All hookups worked fine. WiFi worked very well. Pool area looked clean. Mature trees offer a lot of shade but might be a problem for bigger rigs (ours is 12'4" clearance). The park is convenient to I-10 but is also near the rail line through Banning Pass. The tracks are a mile or so away but it is a heavily used line so you will hear train horns frequently, but it's not terribly bothersome.

Have stayed here a few times. It is true that the park roads are narrow. The park is well treed and said trees bear the marks of many a camper either too big or in too big a hurry to get around the park. We were in a 35' motorhome and had no problems at 5mph. We had the full hookup/pull through and had no problems with any of the services. WiFi ok, plenty of cable channels. My only problem with the sites was they were on an incline. The whole park is in the foothills of Mt. Elden, so the whole park goes uphill. Nice hiking trails though. My only problems were with the clientele. I don't begrudge anybody who has toys (bikes, trikes, atvs). I got 'em too. But in such a narrow setting it makes navigating a big problem. I don't begrudge anybody who has dogs. I got 'em too. But I don't need to listen to them bark at 6am. I can stay home for that.

Relatively new park, about two years old. Facilities are top notch. Nice pool area. Lounge, restrooms, laundry, showers all spotless. All site amenities in good working order. Shuttle to nearby casino. Even though it's definately an "RV Park" rather than a campground, it borders on the Verde River and the surrounding wilderness, so if you can get a side on the park edges you can get some pretty scenery. This is the desert so be prepared to deal with: Summer Monsoons/lightning/sand storms. Critters-red ants especially. We had a problem during our stay, but nothing that we couldn't handle. Heat- Duh. Overall, very nice and will stay there again.

We couldn't have had a nicer time. Park was about 1/2 full. The camp staff was very nice. Gravel spots were well maintained. I saw park staff drag the gravel spaces after each camper vacated. All amenities were in working order. Free WiFi a little spotty, but ok. Mountain and red-rock scenery from the park was gorgeous. Kids enjoyed the ice-cream social nightly. (Ok, I enjoyed it too!) Park staff very helpful in arranging tours. Park is about 5 miles south of town but is still convenient for exploring Arches and Canyonlands. Pool area was nice but pool was COLD! If my kids said it was cold, believe me, it was cold.

Very clean park. Very nice people. Amenities were all very good and in working order, except the WiFi. Pool was very nice. Cable channels a-plenty. We were just there for the evening. If we were there for any longer stay I would most likely return there. If I were there to visit Zion, I might try one of the National Park sites (in the Park) or try one a little closer. If I were just passing through or exploring outside of Zion, I'd stay here again.

Nice clean park. Very well maintained. Wide spaces. Hookups all worked . WiFi was nearly non-existant. Don't come here looking for a "camping experience". It's not that kinda' place. Very good spot to overnight. Would come back if in the area.

I love it when people go to the beach and complain about the sand. You know, if you go to Yosemite there's all those dang pine needles... Everything's relative folks. Anyway, it's a nice park. Where else can you go and have a magnificent rock formation right outside your window and be steps from the ocean, have full hookups with cable and WiFi for $38? I can't stay home for that. The sites can make one a little claustrophobic. But our site handled our 35' MH, our toad and our 2 slideouts. Just. Camp is older and does show it's age in spots. Staff was very friendly. Would stay here again.

Is there and echo..(echo) (echo)? The price is steep. Plus add in the kiddie activies (~$10) and a hotel stay seems somewhat reasonable. Sites are adequate. Nothing special, just adequate. However, my kids informed me that this was the best camp ev-er. They always had something to do and enjoyed all of the activites that the camp had to offer. From the bikes to the mechanical bull. The beach is a mile or so from the camp. The camp is within a dozen miles or so from the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and about 1.5 hours from San Francisco. All of the amenities were in good working order. The camp's complextion changes vastly during the week. During the week, it seemed like every other campground. On the weekend, it's Kid Central. For those of you who have an aversion to large amounts of chilluns, beware. For those of us who have active kids, c'mon down. Yeah, the price is steep. But if we come back to this area, I'm going to have to do a lot of explaining to my kids why we didn't stay here!

This is sorta' half review, half warning. We have stayed here in the past and can basically confirm the majority of things posted previously. Yes, it's clean and well maintained. Yes, it's tight to maneuver. Yes, the trains are loud and frequent. Yes, you do walk to the beach via a pathway (didn't encounter any homeless but they are in the area) It's a decent place if you want to plop somewhere on the CA coast and be close to the ocean. The warning is this. I just called to confirm my reservation and was told that I had none. I was informed that maybe they had me "across the street" at Oceanside RV (See review, draw you own conclusions). When I asked how that happened the girl told me "Oh it happens all the time. People get us confused." Well, I called off of PbtS's own website and I've stayed there before so I know I called the right number. So, if making a reservation here make sure you are reserved at the right place!

Terrific spot. Beautiful scenery. Owners were very helpful in accommodating us with a last minute reservation. We stayed in the full hookup section which had good facilities. Nice views. Next time we might go for the private sites "behind the gate". Nice hiking area.

Nice little park in the wilderness. Would agree with a previous post that it might be a little long in the tooth but the atmosphere is nice. Rolling hills surround park. Upper levels (where most FHU sites are) are reached by moderately steep dirt road which can be tricky when it's wet. Definitely more "campground" than "RV park". Nice base for sightseeing in the area. Approximately 1 hour to Hearst Castle, half hour to Pismo Beach or Morro Bay. Plenty of wildlife in/around the area (deer, owls, raccoons).

Decent park. Can confirm previous posts. Sites are tight and densely packed. Services all worked well. We were there for Thanksgiving and it was pretty crowded. Great weather. Couldn't ask for a better location to access Anza-Borrego SP. Right across the street from the park's main entrance. Riding stables down the street were excellent. Had a dinner in the Steakhouse which was decent but service was s-l-o-w even though it wasn't crowded. I would stay here again.

If you are looking for the "camping experience", look no further. No hookups, but water and dump station are available. Don't expect cell phones to work. But who cares. I almost don't want to tell you this for fear that you'll do it and take my spot away: Come in the early spring. The park is much less crowded. (Dang, there goes my secret) The rivers and waterfalls are full of snowmelt (Dang, again.). Just say Yo'...

We used this spot as a base to tour Northern Arizona. Be advised that it is a *good* 30-45 minute drive southeast of Flagstaff but the driving scenery is wonderful. Two(+) hours to the Grand Canyon. One hour to Sedona. The park itself is spartan but clean. Everything worked properly. Sky filled with stars at night. The Lodge itself has terrific food. There are cabins available for rent as well. Horseback riding through Coconino NF is great. Petting zoo for kids. Buffalo herd on site.
